Take it and Run Thursday: Running Dreams and Wishes
I occasionally stop by the Runner's Lounge and always take note of their Take it and Run Thursday topics. Basically, they give you a running related topic, and you run with it from there. Here's my first one!
This weeks topic: Running Dreams and Wishes
If the Running Genie stopped by, I would ask for these three wishes:
- Running Genie, please let me be injury free this year. I was signed up to run the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon in October, but due to a knee injury and a massive lack of time, I wasn't able to run it. I was really disappointed. Right now I'm suffering a minor (I hope) foot injury. At first I wanted to just ignore this problem, but Hubby rationalized with me and made me realize that taking a few days off right now will probably keep me from hurting it worse and having to take a lot of time off later. I want to be able to run the Disney's Princess Half Marathon. The only way I can get there is to be injury free.
- Running Genie, please give the the mental strength to stick with my training program. I know I can run this half marathon. And I want to run it more than anything. I just need the mental strength to stay with my training program and get out there and run even when I don't feel like it.
- Running Genie, please let me run outside more. I rarely get in an outdoor run. I live in a not-so-nice neighborhood, so running near home is out of the question. I have places I can go to run outside, but driving 40 minutes or more, roundtrip, is out of the question right now. A little more free time in my schedule would be nice.

Good wishes!! I'd like some motivation, clear winter roads and an unlimited gear budget :)
Your pita nachos look amazing! I got some avacoda, red pepper, spinach, tomato and onion today to make something similar, thanks for the inspiration!
The Disney Princess Half Marathon sounds like a lot of fun. I would like to run it too, but it is just too far from home.
